2019 Smart Rivers Conference in Lyon, the call for abstracts is launched

After Pittsburgh (USA) in 2017, the next edition of the international conference Smart Rivers, organised by the French section of PIANC, structured around CNR, VNF and Cerema, will take place in Lyon from September 30 to October 3, 2019.

A privileged opportunity for exchange around the best practices and global trends in the field of sustainable development of inland waterways within the overall supply of transport.

The themes of the conference focus on the major issues of the waterway and innovation:

  • Waterway infrastructure
  • Smart Inland Waterway Transport
  • River induced Land Planning and Development
  • Water and Sediment Management
  • Multimodality
  • Innovation and Future Trends

Contributions are expected from waterway managers, river or seaport ports, territorial actors, research departments, industrialists, transporters, scientists, organizations in charge of water management.

More than 120 presentations, of French and international origin, will be selected by the Scientific Committee of the conference, chaired by Jean-Bernard KOVARIK, Deputy Director General of IFSTTAR. The call for abstracts is launched on the conference website smartrivers2019.com. Proposals must be submitted by January 5, 2019.
